Anyone Recognize The Rola?

Definitely hard to find info for this stuff from way back then. I have a couple 44's and one 74, but never seen anything quite like this one. I did manage to find a few pics of a really nice G12 and its box with this same label though. If TM1 is still around it would be interesting to know what the DC resistance is for his speaker.

Have you got any more photos of that speaker? Really nice condition, bought and never used. Again, all the interesting bits are not shown: namely the date code, and model number. Frustrating how people don't show these things when photographing rare gear. However it's probably circa 1948 to 1949 due to the style of magnet and the older Rola logo. The usual Rola labels appeared in 1950 I think. The impedance is usually stamped on the cone.

As an aside, I use a '54 74 1772 in my 1x12 PR, it's just a great sounding speaker, can take all that I throw at it and now 70 years old, amazing!!

That is all there was. I was hoping to zoom in and get a date off the box too, but it must be really light or something as I can't make out anything. One thing I find interesting is how over so many years that yellow pencil marking on the cone was used. I have a completely undisturbed 1935B Marshall cab from 72. The T1511 speakers inside have cones with just yellow pencil markings, nothing else.

The D.C. resistance on mine is 8 ohms

Hard to believe that speaker is over 75 years old and that we are using pretty much the same thing today.
