Tough one, depending on the sonic neighborhood being visited: when going straight in and not in a band situation... I'll say my Marshall 2061X Handwired, or Orange OR15H.

Then, my Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb or Vox AC-30.

Counting my blessings: I've got a many-flavored 'amp library' of lunchbox types, plus bigger boys that cover the bases. Just like guitars, I've built a whimisical rotation.

yes, the stock 12 , and the 2x10's are a great match. The low gain (-6db) input uses a '59 bassman tonestack so it's fairly close to the 4x10 sound with a bit more fullness.
Funny, I do the same thing inFB_IMG_1776876665216.jpg reverse. I like to plug the 2x10 Alamo into a 1x12 DRRI cab with a JBL D123.

Straight in? Hmm 🤔, I'd say a Marshall 1974X.

👆 A Most Excellent 'Look' 👆

My 1974x is a Rocky-Top clone, green-tinted black tolex. Sorry, no pix handy. The 2061x edges it out just by a hair, or hare... 🐇

my 1974x is a GDS clone that I built shortly before Marshall reissued them. I had the red cab custom built from solid pine.
Yes, that's a real Burst that I got to play that night!

Would be a lot more convincing without the old Digitech RP100 next to it, lol! Where did you dig that up?

Tell me about the Firebird. That thing has seen some stuff. Do you know much about its history? I get all Johnny Winter vibes from it!

It depends on my mood. I'm blessed to have a Carr Rambler, a Victoria Ivy League, and a Victoria Regal II. An embarrassment of riches. Three different voices with the same guitar,. Mix in multiple guitars and all of a sudden everything you plug in to any of them sounds good. I have the Regal II in rotation this week, with a couple vintage grey Philco 6V6 tubes. It gets grainy early.
