• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

This poor old Les Paul suffered a typical 70's style "attack". :bonk
Like most Bursts, it survived, merely scarred. ;)
None the less, a nice 58, .....#8-6811

This, like many of the Bursts I post each week, are old photos sent to me over the years. I have never had this one, and I suspect these pics are about 10 years old.
These pics came to me from Gil Southworth, although I am not certain he took them.

I assume, by now, it has been repaired.

I always welcome more news on any of these Bursts. ;)

Funny how the switch corresponds with the knot on the other side of the ABR.

I'll bet that 70's Guild humbucker was the BOMB, tone wise! LOL

Looks familiar- my '58 (since restored) once had roland guitar synth brains built into it- with three extra knobs and a BIG control cavity... =(

WOW! That Burst came from Twin City Music in Pawtucket RI? That store was founded in 1932 and is still in business however it has moved to 489 1/2 Plainfield St, Providence RI. Just in case anyone is interested...

F&^%!!! Every time I see a desecration like that I think of the Japanese buyers and how, for the most part, they've really taken care of the old bursts they've bought. I remember, many years ago when the yen was strong vs the dollar, hearing some guys say, "Frickin' japs, buyin' all our cool guitars! It ain't right, man!" Yeah, well, at least they weren't DRILLING F&^%KING HOLES IN THEM. Or chopping out a hole for a Floyd or some other damn thing.

I lusted after an LP for years before I could afford one and it drove me nuts to see guys taking never to be completely replicated guitars and trying to turn them into Kramers.

Okay, I'm calming down now. :) :jim

EMGS!!!!!!

Instead of "She's a Roller", it would be "They're for Tossers!"

Is that the guitar on the live album?

Twin City has records of all the guitar sales from the 50s and 60s but he isnt interested in parting with them. R

Wonder if he would provide some basic info, like the date it came from Gibson, or the date it sold and the price? :hmm :brow

Personally, "If You See Kay" was my favorite. Of course, we'd all scream out the refrain as "F-U-C-K," which I think was what the band had in mind!

Man I hope that guitar has been restored by somebody with some serious skills. I feel sick to my stomach seeing that.

:puke :puke

Tom -

Please in the future put some type of warning on pictures like that.
