What ever became of John Sebastian's burst?

Public T.V was doing one of their fund raisers, tonight featuring John Sebastian and the Lovin' Spoonful. There was plenty of old live footage of the band performing live(well, lipsinking actually). But, the other real star on stage was his old burst which ended up featured in a slew of really great color(and b&w) shots.

I wanted to call in and ask,
"Hey John, whatever happened to the burst?"
But, I'm sure someone here will know. It sure was beautious!

He told a great story about his inspiration behind "Nashville Cats", which was really grounded in a tremendous sense of humility after seeing a local picker perform at the Howard Johnson where the band happened to be staying.
John seems like an incredible cool soul.

I remember reading somewhere that it was once used as a canoe paddle in a promo film. Or maybe that's just a 'Burst legend.

Gordon Kennedy owns it. He's a good friend of my best friend. I haven't seen it, but he invited me over for a "tone party" next time I'm in Nashville, so I'm hopeful.

Did not that guitar sit a Dave Hussong's Fretware Guitars for a long time in the late 90's and no one would touch it because of the HS Repair? Did he sell it to Gruhn?

There's a Gordon Kennedy in the Naked Gun movies? Is that OJ's character?

The Gordon Kennedy I'm talking about is a studio guitarist and songwriter in Nashville. His dad was Jerry Kennedy, another Nashville studio guitarist.

Tom Murphy did some restoration work involving the headstock after Kennedy bought it.
