Cracks Across Along the Neck?? Top & Bottom

Is this part of the checking/aging process or this fellas just negligent with his Les Pauls. I came across this model a while back although it hasn't effect the playability and the integrity of the axe, this has become more in occurance to different models and alike. Temperature sure did play a big role here. But seeing this happening to models like the Customs and Re-Issue's and regular models from time to time. There is something about this type of model that obviously seperates it from the rest. I saw some same model type made in the same year with serial numbers not far off from each other and the other would have this type of thing happening to its neck and it's both brand new?
The kicker is that if you want to buy something cheaper? The seller/store would offer it lower in price than the asking, which in return would be a bargain/steal for some. Some argue that having this shit happening gives it more character and mojo as they allready know that it doesn't effect the whole integrity of the axe. I can only assume that these cracks can only happen in time but within a year or two?:wow

Here's an example of the cracks (Top Side) happening along the 1st few frets across the neck. It's right on the top where the white paint meets the fretboard and continues all along the neck and stops at the heel.

Anybody else came across this type of thing happening?

Huh?.. What? Sorry, all I saw in the above post was your avatar.

Actually, I've never seen checking on a USA LP, just Historic.

Brother i wanted to hear about the post here and not my girl!!!:pisd
Aint modelling a grand???:2cool

Checking is done in Historics artificially or in time yes i can heed to that, but in regular USA Standards etc??
I think i'm liking this shit more and more. Instant MOJO in the works and you dont even have to touch it with an Exacto knife?,Specially if it doesn't effect the whole integrity of the axe?.....cap that off with almost 50% discount price???? Where do i sign baby!!:wow I hope Alana doesn't see this post with my shit and her picture.:wow

Yeah well back to the subject? I was contemplating on snagging one on a Custom..........cheap, very cheap.

Those are definitely finish checks, but look that they are radiating outwards from some sort of impact at the edge of the headstock. It doesn't look like damage to the neck wood but more pics might help. I also see pinkish stain from a hanger

It doesn't look like that crack under the fretboard is something to get overly upset over right now.

I'll bet those checks are from a long time on a hanger.

Thanks for the reply here, the Neck is as good as it gets, the pink stuff is from the hanger where the axe has been hanging for quite sometime. The neck did not dropped nor broken or repaired.

Here's a bit more of MOJO:wow

Looking past beyond that, obviously it's a nice thing to have these things show up for a reason and not having to cough up the moolah just to have it look like that. But for the next person who just bought a year ago would've been devastated having to pay good money and not know it's a good thing.

My R7 has those same checks that radiate north and south of the control knobs. I'll bet yours has them by the PU rings too.

To me that looks like the guitar fell forward hitting something with the front of the headstock.

You might not be able to see an impact if e.g. it hit the top of the tuners on a wood table or something softer than the tuners.

There's nothing wrong with that guitar...only finish checks probably due to humidity or temperature changes...not the result of any impact.

So what you're telling us is the girl in your avatar actually is your girlfriend?

Yup she is!.:wow
It does look like it took a hit or impact, but not at all btw?. which is great for it never goes out of tune no matter what gauges of string you use. The neck is as strong as it can be,no twist nor uneven frets. Tuners are all stock and not bent at all. Tight and stable.
