Personally I like Heritage Greenbaks the best except for Jubes. They sound better with V30s IMO
What about you?
What about you?
Out of dozens, and dozens, (and probably more dozens) I've tried over the years, here's my "Top 5".
1. Pre-Rola G12H - 30w - *IF* you can find them, and with original cones, the search will be over forever and forever....
2. Pre-Rola 25w - "THE" classic Marshall sound. (the one in your head)
3. Celestion Gold - my favorite modern speaker with most tight/gainy amps. *Require break-in...brutally tight when new but once broken in they have more character of voice than any five modern speakers combined. Yes, they are a little expensive but you get what you pay for.
4. Celestion Heritage Series Greenback G12H - They did an amazing job on these "reissues". Also, well worth the money and a huge improvement over stock greenbacks.
5. Mojotone British Series 25w - Best bang for the buck with a vintage Marshall amp than any speaker I've heard. When fully broken in can sound IDENTICAL to the late 60's pre-Rola 25w G12M.

Original G12M 20s 014 cones are the ones that came with my '68 B Cabinet.
I like my pre-Chinese reissue Greenbacks!!
