Oh please no... I must stay away from this thread... I feel a GAS attack coming....

I nominate Frank's '07 R0 (0 7276). It simply breathtaking to me.

A few years back there was a big to do here on the LPF regarding a couple of R7s that Private Reserve Guitars from MF put up. A bunch of us tried to get them (there were two of them), but most of were left out in the cold. Although they were R7s, they were both sunburst finish with the most beautiful mineral streaks I've ever seen on a Historic. Does anyone recall these two guitars?

And I hope he doesn't mind, but I thought I'd post a pic of this guitar that belongs to a buddy of mine (Olli) on another forum. I think you'll agree, it has some beautiful mineral flecks as well:

And I'm not sure who this belongs to these days, but I've always thought this guitar...known as "scarface"...was absolutely gorgeous:

I believe you may be talking about my beloved R7. There were two but they were both Iced Tea finishes. Serial number 003 and 002. I got 002 and heres a couple shots. Its the actual guitar that MF used in their on-line ad.

And I managed to find the original ad. Evidently they dont close out old ads.

Not sure what you mean by "left out in the cold"? I hustled my ass off to get it and it paid off. Its still my main guitar and I still love it. I thought it was the nicest guitar I had ever seen............still do. But there are some real beautys in this thread.

Mlongano, I found the original thread and see why you were upset. You tried to buy one of them and got a run-around. Sorry it worked out that way for you. This is my first and only Historic and its well cared for and enjoyed.........if thats any consolation.

That is freakin beautiful......double boogie is that yours?

Yep. It's an 04 faded tobacco Custom Authentic R9...I really fell out when I first saw this one. I love the color and somethin about the top figuring just says "old" to me... I have never seen a guitar with a more unique mineral streak figure than the heart that this one has by the volume knobs.
