I was down in Nashville this weekend and was in the right place at the right time. Check out this really clean 1965 Fiesta Red Stratocaster that I picked up from my friend Elliot at Rumbleseat Guitars. The sound of this beauty is STUNNING!:jim Oh yeah...it's got factory large frets.:dude:

Good timing CD....I have a refin to work through on a clean '63 (bar of course, the current not so nice refin). The level of "relic" on this is a good indicator. Have those little dings been touched up at all? The white undercoat on these sold colour Fenders can be a little bright when a chip happens. Something to consider emulating when I get to that point.

Good eye. There are a couple of small touch ups down by the input jack. The undercoat does present quite a contrast on Fiesta Red.

Holy crap! that guard is WHITE. Clay dots, transition logo?
Congrats CD:hank

They aren't clay dots. The pics are just a little deceiving. It's a later 65, but thankfully not an "F" plate.

I have a new found respect / interest in custom color Fenders after visiting Songbirds. That's a beauty.

So "L" plate like my late '64 sunburst. For years I thought mine had clay dots..they look deceiving like the dots on yours..they just don't have any pearl swirls.
