• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Has anyone been following the launch of the Origin Effects...

DROP. DEAD. SEXY. (You need a Gamechanger Plus on it though.)

The 2 button is what I meant. Yeah, I ordered the custom with the aux pedal.

I would guess you would want to Cali it BEFORE Revivaling it. But we need a recoding specialist here as my head is usually bass-akwards on this stuff (works great for programming but life stuff? Not so much). Mainly because I think you might LOSE some of what the Revival is doing if you compress after. But maybe on an 1176 that's not so true. I know ANYTHING I have put thru the Cali sounds better. Anything.

You are using the Effects Loop on your Matchless?

man don't you hate when you write a whole bunch and it gets lost?

yes I use the effects loop on the matchless and I love it-- I use the first channel. The voodoo labs pedal switcher goes into the effects loop. I have the AIC wah going into it as well as the four strymon things. Everything else (the revival drive, compression, zen drive, centura, Muffroom cloud, Bob Burt GR8 and the Shinei Octaver all go in to the front of the amp)

I love my Matchless so much! more and more. BLOOMY.

Between that and the the CArr Merc V (and my princeton... and the Jim Kellyey) I've officially become an amp snob. I have become very spoiled. But man stuff sounds so good through those things... the Matchless is just so great-- especially because it works so great with pedals-- and that Revival Drive -- can't wait to hear what you think!

You needz yourself a Clark Piedmont. It does that bloomy thing in spades even down at 3 on the volume. But Matchless are hard to beat. More towards the VOX side. That's what I like about this pedal. I can get more out of the Matchless so I can enjoy it as well. And if I stereo the other side with delay into my Piedmont! Then stereo THAT into my At Mars!! Then stereo that into my Komet!

yes and I use the VOX channel (I don't use the second channel....mainly because then you've got to switch the effects loop thingie in the back)

that sustain pedal is crazy

did you get the Prototype yet from the BnG guys? Tone report?

my guitar is on its way. how long from the "being shipped to america" in the tracking to when it arrived were yours?

man I'm chock full of stuff right now and no room. NO MORE AMPS OR GUITARS (this week)

today a pedal steel is coming in! I needed one. yes.... do I know how to play it ? NO... but I"m gonna have fun trying.. so now I need space in my little room for that. vintage LLoyd Green Sho bud! should be fun

Always wanted a pedal steel after Rusty Young in Poco! Blue Water!

No Prototype yet. Don't know what happened there, they said that run is done. I HAD #5 in my possession. Sounded frigging fantastic. Kinda Fender Tweed meets Blackface meets Vox. I thought it was pretty special.

My guitars from them took about a week and a half after they shipped.

My OE shipped yesterday.

yay!-- wait so what is happening w #5?

sitting at home waiting for the paint to dry. I mean for Fed Ex to come. :dang

I"ll be intersted to see what shape this thing is in. I already spied a pedal steel shop about an hour from me that I think could probably overhaul it and get it going nice.

yea just listened to Blue Water-- right in the middle of the song theres some good stuff!

A lot of the time Rusty is playing if you are not watching them you will assume it is damn good lead and rhythm players when it's him. He was THAT good! Listen to Crazy Eyes. At 7:30 you start to realize, "Hey,, did they just combine pedal steel, banjo, full rock kit and a complete orchestra in one song?". Epic. Also some GREAT lead riffs at the end. Saw these guys twice, once before and once after Schmit joined.

#5 is coming back to me after getting a going over as it was 'on the road' as their demonstrator at some shows and such. I had it back in February. They were making a few changes and adding a pedal etc. I have been assured it is the same beast I'm getting back.

This thing smells like it has been in somebody's grandmother's attic for the last 35 years

Poco was originated by Buffalo Springfield. Poco then birthed MANY bands. Eagles, Loggins and Messina, Souther Hillman and Furay, Cotton Young and added to just about everything at the time in the genre. Yet MANY people know nothing of them. Worth digging into IMO. They are HUGELY influential and though they didn't have a ton of Billboard hits their music was always considered top drawer by musicians. Though I am hardly a musician their music defined a lot of me through the late 60's and 70's. Any band I was in played a few of their tunes.

I'll push JUST a bit further. The Country/Rock of the time is virtually forgotten. Flying Burrito Brothers spawned Firefall. America was a stand alone but had more hits than most bands ever enjoy.

nice! yea I listened to Yacht Rock a lot in the operating room and they play sister golden hair like every 10th song.

Wasn't Graham Parsons somewhat credited for bringing country stuff to california too a little? I feel like I read that somewhere.

I don't know what is wrong with me. all of a sudden all I here is Teles (I just heard nit pickin by danny gatton on the way to work today) and pedal steel in my head these days

So, any comments about Les Paul with Revivaldrive at this point?

Bob

I apologize. No more band memories stuff. Just got excited all over again at stuff after hearing about his pedal steel (as I am wont to do)! Yes. Mine will be here next week. Pelly, is the Paul good to go on this monster?

Its absolutely killer.

Bob I honestly think this is kind of be all and end all. If you have a great clean amp to start with this will give you everything you want and need.....

I did one vid doing blue sky and it was pretty good but not good enough for prime time

tomorrow am I'll try to see if I can do a vid that Ill not look back on and not regret

I play in a Allman Bros band with Simon and he is a DUANE NUT... ultra committed and all about TONE, he has a "few" of my old amps and LPs

What he is doing with OE is amazing, respect. total genius.

Ren; Besides being a huge Duane/ABB fan ?(& friend) I loved Poco! I saw them at The Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, Ca in 1969. Small club and I sat right at one of the front tables between Timmy & Richie! They just were perfect that night! Jimmy was still playing one of Neil's old Gretsch 6120's that he got in trade for the black Les Paul that Neil has and still plays to this day. Richie used his ES-335/12 string (a black one) and Rusty used his pedal steel and a dobro into a Twin and a Leslie/Vibratone with a Jordan Bosstone for overdrive/fuzz. I talked with Timothy B. Schmitt about 10 years ago about that gig and he told me he had just joined the band a week or two before that run of shows. Randy had quit and joined The Eagles.. Messina, being very pissed off at Randy, wiped his bass and vocal tracks from the first LP and replaced them with his own voice and bass parts. I have a very longtime, close friend who tried out for the bass spot. He could kick himself for not taking it. In the trivia dept.. when Messina and Richie were first putting the band together, Gregg Allman auditioned for the bass spot... I think Gregg made a better choice by not joining..lol! this was 1968 after Duane had left for Alabama and Poco was just forming..

Awesome times! Rusty would dump his pedal on it's side, nuzzle a chicks neck in the first row and not miss a note...
