• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Let the hating begin...the Anarchist has been converted!

It looks great! What do the home-wound pickups sound like? Could you post a "before" picture?

I have plenty of P-90 guitars that I LOVE. This just wasn't one of them. Varitones on the other hand....YANK 'EM!:teeth

...I like Varitones... :dang

I was proud of myself yesterday. The neck pickup in this guitar is glorious. However, the bridge pickup was initially a little poochie. I changed the strings and before putting the new ones on, I shimmed the bridge pickup with a popsicle stick. Freakin’ thing roars now ?

Disclaimer : The guitar is cool in both
formats !

It would be cool to see side by side before and after pics. Any pics of the conversion process? Thanks

It still has the looks...

Another possibility was to put in some other nice P90s?

But who cares as long as it get played...

For all the haters: I think Charlie's quote of "Because we wanted to" should close the case once and for all on conversions. It's their property, let them do what they wish with it. And he's got a set of PAFs to put in it --- surprise, surprise! I doubt those are NOS pickups that were found in a drawer in Kalamazoo and saved for a rainy day. Those pickups came out of a guitar that was sold for parts. So, at the end of the day, JB is going to be playing a converted Les Paul with PAFs that came from a guitar that got parted out. :hmm Can we make that thread sticky? Cheers, guys. Looks badass!
