• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Lads, I'm a country mile behind on my communications, I owe calls and e-mails to a lot of you. Don't think for a second that I've forgotten a single one of you...I haven't.

What makes this news gigantic for Us is that we had steeled ourselves for another recurrence and another gruelling round of lengthy chemo, it's simply how the landscape looked from past experience. As you can imagine the last couple of months since finishing the last chemo bombardment have been full of scans, blood tests, more scans etc etc rinse and repeat. The anxiety level has been literally at fever pitch. It's been uphill.

So to hear the exact opposite from our Chief consultant, ad verbatum ..." I won't beat about the bush, Audrey, your scans are clear, your tumour markers have dropped to well within safe limits, this is Remission... it's early days but we'll see you in 3 months....."

I almost stopped breathing.

Almost 2 years to get here.

Gentlemen, today, the 27th is my Birthday - 56 times around the Sun - guess what I wanted for my birthday.

It has been my personal honour to share this bloody slog with you all, those that have narrated similar journey's with me in private have my undying gratitude. You may or may not realise how many leads I've taken from you, I want you to know that. I hope I can carry some little load for someone in the future, as has been done for Us.

Thanks Men, for that is what you all are.

Now to put ourselves back together somewhat.......

Paul.

It is so great to read stories like this where the word remission is used. Since the summer of 2018, I had to bury my 89 year old mother who died of COPD complications, I got prostate cancer and had it removed followed by radiation therapy and hernia repair surgery. My wife who is a breast cancer survivor since 2004, got diagnosed with a recurrence of it and underwent surgery for a double mastectomy and reconstruction and then had to have a complete hysterectomy. There were several other things to go with all of these, but with all of this going on, I haven't been here very often and is likely why I missed this post. I am so very happy for you and your wife. You both will be in my prayers from now on. All the best.. Steve

A powerhouse of a response.

I can't tell you how glad I am to see you come in Steve, thanks for talking.

This cancer dodge is sure uphill for everyone it touches.

Here's to still standing, and leaning on each other when we can't quite do it unaided.

Your happiness and prayers are returned, by the lorry load.

Love to you both from under English skies.

This one's dedicated to You and Your Lady...

Paul.

Thanks Paul! Once again, I'm really glad to hear your good news. One of these days I need to make it across the big pond and spend some time on the British Isles. Love the history as well as the people I've met over the years. Continued prayers for you and your wonderful wife! :salude:salude

Isn't it Mate.

Been a right old scrap.

Audrey had her hair cut last week, first one since July last year, the bugger all fell out 4 weeks later.

The look of joy on her face mate...they say it's the small things..it is.

Catch you soon Brother, stay well.

We'll be at Haydock if you fancy it?
