Just wondered if anyone here had a Gibson Wildwood Select Les Paul 50's Standard Les Paul. Its a run of 200 guitars that Wildwood and Gibson have collaborated on where Wildwood has handpicked the tops for Gibson and also had Gibson hand wind them a set of exclusive pickups which they are calling 59 Tributes?
Thanks

I have one & love it! I did put Bare Knuckles in it though. The photos don't really show how nice the top is but gives a fair idea.

Very cool. Almost like mine. I think I remember seeing yours on the site. So was your intention all along to replace the pickups? Was there something you didn't like about the 59 Tributes? Heres mine

I got the non potted Mules. Yes, my intention was to replace the pickups from the start. I like the look of un covered and wanted to try non potted.

I was looking at those as well. How do you like them. Are they much different than the Busrtbuckers?

Looking at the Wildwood ones. They look nice. But, other shops may get in some nice flame tops, too. Worth the extra $$$ to get one from Wildwood?

Here's my Wildwood-spec Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s "Unburst" (the "50s" model is normally not available in this finish) with special underwound Alnico-II Gibson '59 Tribute pickups (about 7.5k), hand-selected figured maple top, and '59 wiring (including 500K CTS audio taper pots and Gibson bumblebee caps). It's the best sounding and most dynamic LP I've ever played... I couldn't be happier with it.

I got a 50’s Unburst last month from Wildwood. Absolutely killer guitars and worth the extra $. Setup was done by them to my liking and arrived ready to play.

Well, timing is everything. I was fortunate enough to get my Wildwood Select LP Standard 50s model at a discount, at less than the price for the normal Gibson model. Then a few months later, Gibson raised prices on their Standard 50s model by $200, so Wildwood, having consistently and rapidly sold out each batch of their Select 50s LP Standards, have raised their price on these by $300. How often do you buy a brand new guitar and the value actually increases very shortly after purchase? Yes, these guitars are that good, and have truly earned their value.

Not Wildwood Spec Gibson Les Paul 50's Standard, but in my opinion top looks like it could be. Burstbucker 1 & 2 are great pup's no need for changing them. Absolute stunner. Last pic is from shop where i saw it, and was a must to get.
