Very cool. Looking forward to it - the DVD (blu-ray) if not the theatrical.
But, man, with heavy hitters like that, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall at those reheasals, and more precisely, between takes, to hear the conversations that went on there.

Kirk's performance on Green Manalishi sure has come in for some stick.

Personally I think he throws the kitchen sink at it, and as far as tributes go: to the song, it's author, and the guitar it was played on, I echo Fleetwood's cry at the end...."nailed it..."

Here's what they're trying to pay tribute to...

Which is unfortunate, and somewhat unfair, as his allocated song was changed at very short notice.

Making this really committed performance that bit more impressive to my mind...

I've been trying to play the bastid for 40 years, still nowhere near.

Things OK in the back of bloody beyond Mate?

Has anyone figured out his tone (meaning Peter Green)? The tribute is nice but nothing close- literally screaming glassy almost clean.
The very definition of signature.

PG's tone was nothing complicated - usually Greeny, so it had the odd pickup magnetism thing going on, into Fender Showman amps, most of the time, at lest live. I haven't studied him closely, so I don't know if there was anything else - sometimes I think there might have been a fuzz or boost pedal int here, but I can't really tell. Studio obviously is more wide open - they could experiment with other sounds.
Like so many other masters, PG's tone was mainly in his hands.

Green Manalishi with Billy Gibbons:

finally got to watch this.
Nice!!! Rev Billy, Kirk, Johnny Lang, and was that Andy Fairweather-Lowe on that side, and who was that with the weird guitar next to the bass? Looked a bit like Uli Jon Roth's guitar, but not really. Plus Mick and Zach Starkey on drums. Was John McVie on bass? Couldn't tell.

Just got a copy of the CD / Blu-ray package in the mail. I don't think I've torn anything open that fast since my 10th birthday...
Halfway through Disc 1 now, and it's great so far. Aside from Steven Tyler on |Rattlesnake |Shake, I think most of the big ones are coming later.
