• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Where's Tom Wittrock ?

Tom is a dear friend and is still a member in good standing of the LPF. He loves this place. He is still checking in and reading. I think he is taking a break from posting, but my hope is that he will resume shortly. :hank

We all need a break now and then.

I always thought that Tom was just a regular guy.

Someone you'd want to meet and talk shop.

Hang out.

Enjoy a beer and a pizza with.

Unpretentious.

And forgiving.

Too bad I haven't met him yet.

Maybe someday.

Love the one you're with.

While you can.

Life is ephemeral.

Tom has been a regular here for the past 17 years or so that I’ve been a LPF member. A month or two ago there were a couple of threads in the vintage section that I would have expected Tom might chime in on and when he didn’t, I realized that it had been a months since he had posted anything. With all this Coved shit going around I was concerned that maybe he or a family member might be ill. I’m glad to hear that all is well. :)

this must still be the situation...I’ve seen his name recently signed in here but not posting ..one burst authentication thread in particular he really got raked over the coals along with Terry Mueller which may have prompted this leave of absence

I'd hate to think he locked himself inside his Snap-Safe™.

I remember that post. I was disappointed (to be polite) in the tone from some of the participants. Tom has been a tremendous asset to this forum, and we are poorer for each of these true experts that we lose.

I also remember that one and quite frankly just chalked it up to peeps being douchy on the interweb.

Every once in a while it gets to everyone.

People will generally find a way to disappoint me.

I too remember the thread.

JJ Blair rather expertly dismantling a piece of junk claiming to be a 'Burst, thus saving a member here a not inconsiderable sum of money.

Those that backed it rightly lost some ground.

As I have, countless times in my life.

It's called life.

I'm glad when making mistakes, that any given crew don't shoot their wounded.
