he wasn;t even the t
Yes, definitely. Growing up a decade before you, Nugent was THE biggest and largest grossing act in the 1970s. And just as Paul McCartney taught bass players how to be a rock bass player on stage, Ted Nugent taught rock guitarists how to play rock guitar on stage. There was - and is - noone like him in the music business.

As for his politics - yes, he is an outspoken critic of the current PC culture. He is a populist and an ardent supporter of our Bill of Rights. Those on the far left despise him for his views, those in the middle and far right generally support his views. But despise him or love him, he remains one of Rock's all-time guitar greats. And the stories of him having dressing room guitar duals with other famous guitarists - including Jimi Hendrix - are legendary all to themselves.

And it's just wrong the far left folks at the R&R HOF does not recognize Nugent for his guitar genius. To put one-hit wonder Joan Jett on their Top 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time list and intentionally omit Nugent, Robin Trower, Joe Satriani, etc all because of their political and/or faith beliefs is just wrong. Robin Trower ranks right up at the top along with with BB King, Albert King, Buddy Guy, and SRV as one of the all-time blues guitar greats.
Well I'm not in the far left but...

Ted Nugent wasn't even in the Top 100 of grossing acts in the 1970s!

I've never heard of any guitar player that has ever made in famous site Ted as an influence.

And a supporter of the Bill Of Rights doesn't go a long way coming from a draft dodger !

Oh and he's quite a lyric writer (but I think he liked 12 year olds better, just ask Courtney Love)...

Well, I don’t care if you’re just 13

You look too good to be true

I just know that you’re probably clean...

Jailbait you look fine, fine, fine...

It’s quite alright, I asked your mama

Wait a minute, officer

Don’t put those handcuffs on me

Put them on her, and I’ll share her with you

well the '58 went for 275K and the '59 for 300K so I guess carving the initials didn't do too much financial damage ... good for Ted :):)
After fees and taxes Nugent will bank about $350,000.00 for a couple of old beat to death guitars he bought many years ago and used to earned quite a bit of money with over the years.....

Capitalism at its best.

Lol, so much for the Nugent hate displayed by some......:ROFLMAO:

I think the auction site is just a sales platform and likely don't have that info on hand. I'd imagine they have to forward the questions to Ted/his agent/his tech and then wait back.

My expectation would be the auction ends without any bids and then the sale ends up being arranged in private, without all the auction house fees and with allowance for an actual inspection/handling of the guitar(s). It seems most bursts move behind closed doors and without the costs being publicised.

As you've pointed out, who would put that money in without detailed pictures, handling, questions answered etc?

Hopefully you do manage to find a way to take one off Ted's hands!
thanks. i would have been shot down had i bid. they went higher than i could afford at the moment. i thought maybe 200 or so on the 59.. its good to see the burst market doesnt appear to be weak! and they were teds guitars, i think that added to the sale because the guitars themselves seemed to be a bit of a mystery.
theft alert! guys a large collection of guitars was stolen in california over 100 guitars. keep your eyes peeled. search 'huge guitar collection stolen'

Got a link to the "huge guitar collection stolen"? I searched on this forum and the interwebs and found nothing recently relevant in California.

Wow that was a pretty killer collection of offset Fenders. I've been ripped off before, and I lost some cool guitars and recording equipment, but nothing on that scale!

a lot of the offsets had gold hardware, those dont come along every day.i,m guessin the guys been into guitars a long time. man i hate to hear of any one loosing any amount of gear. guitars can be such a personal thing and an integral part of your tone and maybe not easily replaced.

No doubt they are on a shipping container somewhere west of Kalifornia.
Sounds like a inside job. Someone knew what was in that storage locker and brought a large truck and a couple of friends to move them.

I have great memories hearing the Amboy Dukes playing live. This was around the time of their "Migration" and "Marriage" albums. As a young kid who was just starting to learn how to play, these guys were Gods. Actually met Ted on a few of those occasions and he was very kind to me.

Don't know about his current financial status but there comes a time when we all are going to have to say goodbye to certain things. I'm 68 and lately have been going through my house getting rid of many things. I'm not a hoarder by any means, but I've lightened the load quite a bit. Glad I'm doing it now while I can still easily get up and down my basement stairs.

That sucks mightily and my heart goes out to the owner . I think this was no random theft and it smells to me that it is someone who knew what was in there as he cleaned out the whole kit and caboddle . This person should be caught and arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law , and have the judge throw the book at him including the whole library of law books .

Per Ted Nugent's FB blog of 4/19, he has tested positive for what he calls the China Virus.

After he is done with his tirade against members of the medical profession (citing Hypocritical Oath etc.) he mentions that he has a '59 Burst that's ready for him to rock. Indeed, there is a guitar in the background that could be an authentic Burst.

And here I go, thinking that both his Bursts were sold at auction. Must have been the Iyin', cheatin', fake liberal news that gave me that impression....
