You are taking it wasay to seriously I think.

I took it as if being a bit of a joke. Surely there are some guitars that you find ugly! It’s all subjective of course.

Look I was one of those fools that used to think Telecasters were ugly! Well they are still ugly, but wisdom and appreciation for a genius design and tone finally hit my confused ass and now I think they are beautiful.

But yeah, I think this is supposed to be a trivial, but fun thread.
The "sick too my stomach", I thought was over the top, so I replied in kind. What I might find unappealing, or ugly as you put it, is my problem. Some just don't make me moist, mostly overt trendy models marketed to specific styles of extreme music, or movement badges that have nothing to do with me.

Some are going to love those guitars, either owning or hoping to and I don't like shitting on others gear. I might shoot a stinky cheese face and utter an involuntary explicitive, but I try to check outright disgust. Maybe I'm just too sensitive to the power of internet bandwagon jumpers and lynchmob piggybacking. I've seen, right here on this forum, how easily a negative notion or alternate facts gain traction becoming a widespread truth, repeated and regurgitated everywhere.

I know this wasn't your intent, and my intent was to poke fun and maybe chill the tone before it becomes ugly bashing.

I have a cool Tele story, I don't remember if I've told it before, similar to your take, except mine was embarrassing and showed what a dumbass knucklehead I was. Got taught a lesson by a Mastercaster!!

There are certain guitars that I surely don't like the look of, but nothing that really makes me ill. Funny story, I remember buying a Teye Llama a few years back and I was looking for some info on it. So I googled the make/ model, and I found a blog where a guy was describing my actual guitar as quite ugly and way over the top. I thought the guy was a dick. So I don't like to shit on other people's guitar taste. As for the Teye, I sold it, not because of the looks, I didn't like the longer scale. The low e-string seemed to waver in pitch, but the pickup switching and sound was pretty cool.

Because it’s a Trini Lopez fear gosh sakes!
Well yeah -- but semantics aside, the underlying guitar is a good looking variation on the Trini, which I always thought was a pretty cool guitar.

The only guitar that made me 'sick to my stomach' was a customer's who would bring it to restrung about once a month. Rusty strings and crud everywhere, you had to scrape the grime off the fretboard.

Anything else is just different designs/preferences/taste

I can dig it ... yes stuff like this can become “trendy mean girls” level stuff fast. I thought I was being funny with my initial post for example but in retrospect it comes off as a bit wacky and unhinged ... well it was supposed to be funny :D.

If you ever feel like telling us your Tele story, I bet we’d all get a kick out of it.

What is kinda wild is how protean and fickle tastes can be, at least for me. I remember distinctly how impressed I used to be with ultra monster tops, now I think they are cheesy and I like the subdued more vintage style ones, and in fact like gold and ebony tops best now. I was smitten by pointy guitars a little at one point, then they became “lame” to me and I went into full vintage style aesthetic mode, well to this day. But now I see some 80s shred weapon and a part of me wants one.. well at least an 80s or early 90s Beck signature Strat!

Lately I’ve gone full rogue and got a shell pink Jazzmaster WITH a maple neck! Fashion hipster frenemies probably hate me now, I’ve strayed from their norms of cool ! :D

So, to your point again, yeah even when expressing our latest elitist aesthetic hot gas, a good dose of humility is in order fer sure! Thanks for your thoughts !

I hear you loud and clear man.

The other day I saw a Billy Gibbons custom Tele, with a one bridge humbucker, cabronita pickguard and bound neck and headstock, and it looked pretty fetching and bad ass I have to say.
