• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Which LP?

Never been a Gibson guy but now the itch is on.
It's so easy to get lost in all of the models so.....
If I want an LP with a medium/fuller neck but not much shoulder on the profile and reasonable weight....what should I be looking for?
From what Ive played so far the 60's has too much shoulder and the asymmetrical is out of the question.
I did however try a 56CS a while back and that neck was beautiful. Price wise ....totally out of my range :D

Thank you

Look for a used STD with the 50's neck and you'll be fine. I recommend you play before you buy and make sure you buy exactly what you want. Do not settle for a lesser guitar because it's $400 cheaper, it's better to save up a little longer and get your dream guitar.

That depends on the guitar. A used one should be less expensive and some mods might make it perfect (or not). I'd make a list of things you'd like on a Les Paul and find one that tick most boxes (or all boxes). Color, amount of flame, weight, neck shape, pickups, bridge, price etc.
