• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Nancy has always been an avid user of the Ibanez Tube Screamer pedal. If I am not mistaken, she started using the TS around the time Denny Carmassi and Mark Andes joined Heart in 1983 (this was when Passionworks was released) and it played a very big role in a lot of Eighties records Heart put out. You can hear it in the solo on Alone, as well as on If Looks Could Kill, Nothin At All, How Can I Refuse and on the newer material Heart has put out along with several Music Man, Marshall and Fender amps. Howard Leese began on Music Man, Fender Bassman and Marshall stacks before designing his own loop pedals. He also used Mesa/Boogie amps on the albums Brigade and Desire Walks On.

But the primary electric guitars Nancy uses the Ibanez Tube Screamer on are a Telecaster, a Gibson SG and a Flying V.
However, on albums like Dreamboat Annie and Little Queen, she used a Music Man flanger and Music Man phase shifter. This was when Roger Fisher was still in Heart. God I miss those days!
The Tube Screamer is a very powerful tiny mean green machine. Noel Gallagher of Oasis uses one, as does SRV and Steve Lukather.

But if anyone finds this interesting about Nancy, please let me know. It's what makes girlie hard rock like Heart one of my favorite rock bands.

I don't think MusicMan ever made a Flanger or Phase Shifter. I know MXR did and they were huge in those days. I own a MusicMan RD-100 and I had a HD-130 at one time, but have never recalled seeing any effects from them.

MusicMan made amplifiers with phaser integrated (RP models), but neither I can't remember of stand alone effects.
