• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Share your FUZZ tones please....!

"Freeform blues"? Please, explain.
Basically just me putting something like "The Thrill is Gone", "Low Rider",12 bar, maybe some C minor slow, blues; and I just improvise a blues jam out of it until someone tells me to shut up because they're trying to sleep.
But I just never found a good way to incorporate fuzz into my style all that well. just seemed too heavy. I want some very moderate fuzz for some blues/rock. Maybe someone here has some good pointers. I'll look into these pedals in the thread and continue to play with my muff.

If using a real amp, the fuzz typically needs the volume dime'd to push the amp. Then roll your guitar volume down to whatever is your sweet spot.

IMHO ^^^^ this is how the great old fuzz tones were achieved. Not a particularly easy way to play, but a truly wild ride. If you don't use fuzz this way, it is eye opening when you do.

Unity is not a good reference point when using fuzz any more than you would want a nitro funny car to behave on public roads at legal speeds.

Modeling, like I do these days, is a different story.

Word. Also, where you put the fuzz in word chain is very important.

Cool! Yeah fuzz doesn't like stuff in between it and the guitar.

I did have the fuzz behind the wah and managed to get a good sound but it took some tweaking.
