• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I liked the low winds just fine but looking back would have chosen the regular wind.

symbiotic relationship

isn't that the word Joe Bonamassa uses

the interaction of hands, guitar and amp/speaker cab

anyway, if you're not running full bore and pushing air thru those speakers you're already not getting everything your guitar has to offer

JUST change your pick material and/or pick thickness and send me the money you save

Mark's regular wind- double-white- the bobbin color. It's a term we use here.
Awesome! By regular wind I assume you mean the medium winds? Technically his regular wind is actually the low-winds lol. I just ordered a set of medium winds. Can’t wait to try!

You can't go wrong with any OX4 set. I have the Rollin Man, a set that Mark made me with Rollin Man specs but not out of phase, Hot Duane, and two sets of Low Wind (A4) all in Les Pauls, and a set of Medium Wind (A4) in a Flying V. They are all outstanding pickups. I have or have had Seymour Duncan 59s, DiMarzio PAF Pro, T-Tops, Tim Shaws, Gibson 490s, 59 Classics, Burstbucker 1&2, 61T/61R, and Monty's PAFs in my Les Pauls. The OX4s are superior to all of them. The Low Winds are probably my favorite of all because of the note definition and separation between notes. If I play a big chord, I can clearly hear each string and for fast alternate picked lines, each note and pick attack is extremely clear. This is true even at high saturation/overdrive levels, although I don't use pedals - just tube amp distortion. They really bring out the natural sound of the guitar and sensitive to the player's touch, too, and are perfectly balanced across all strings.
