• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I see THD is taking preorders for their new Hotplate, $525 is still a bit over your $400 budget but might be worth a look. You can check their Facebook page. Their manual says they will handle up to 185W, so should work fine with your Superlead.
I’ll probably hold off and spend the money on a Power Station but I’ll will look into th new THD. I remember the issue with the older model THD’s were that they were Ohm specific.

FWIW, even as a huge THD customer (Hot Plates, Flexi, BiValve, UniValve, Yellow Jackets) I am leaning UA or PS-2... Any reason why you are leaning PS-2?

FYI on THD: Here's the new one, these are not Ohm-specific: New THD Hot Plate

Limited gold finish shown.

We are now taking pre-orders for the new batch of THD Hot Plates!
This batch uses the new, modified -16dB rheostat, for smoother turning, no drop-outs during rotation, and longer rheostat life (though they already last 30+ years, on average).
This run includes all of the impedances we offer: 2, 2.7, 4, 8 and 16 ohms. All will have black chassis, and they will be offered with your choice of black or gold wrap arounds.
They made their way from the anodizer to the silk screener today, and will start shipping in late August or early September.
The price is US$525 each, plus shipping. (This is our first price increase in 25 years on this product line, and they are still made in the US.)
If you buy direct, there is no tax charged by us, unless you reside in Washington State. When we have shipped all of the pre-orders, they will also be available on our eBay and Reverb stores, but they will charge local sales tax for wherever you live, so it is less expensive to order direct from us.
To pre-order, please contact us by private messenger, email, text, or phone. Our email address is andy@thdelectronics.com, and phone/text is +1 206-781-5500. Orders will be shipped in the order in which they are received.

Just due to the many positive reviews on the PS2. Actually my cheap Bugera PS1 isn’t working too bad as long as I use an OD pedal for gain.

What a find. ENJOY! FWIW, Of all the amps i've had, it's my '74 JMP 50 watt w/checkerboard 4x12 cab I miss the most. That is just a fantastic find, my friend.
