• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

So instead of adding a R9 (which I was considering) to my humble collection of Les Pauls which consist of an R8, a 50’s Standard, and a Classic, I went a different direction. I decided against the R9 as my R8 will do just fine, and they are similar anyway. So I traded my Classic in against a ES 335!

It’s a 2022 “60’s Cherry” Dot. And what a sweet guitar it is. Such a beautiful mellow tone from the neck pickup, very bluesy which I love. Different enough from a LP to make me happy I went with it instead of the R9.

Perfect out of the box. Intonation, action, neck relief, I don’t see it needing the complementary set up that L&M offers. Maybe a set of stings as I prefer the D’Addario over the stock Gibson strings.

Very pleased with my purchase.

Congrats! The 335 is my favorite guitar, so versatile, comfortable to play and unique sounding. I went with the 59 as Im not a fan of the block inlays.

Thanks everyone.
I really like that it is so different from my LP’s. Such a nice tone. I’m very happy with it.
The fingerboard is almost black, which I really love.

Looks phenomenal! Gibsons got a stash of some very, very wild and cool figured maple they’ve been doing ES guitars with lately. I just picked one up yesterday. I was instantly attracted to it and it has a sweet handful of a neck too. Congratulations!

Congrats. Great choice, increase the tonal spread... Looks great!

Just curious, what Classic did you let go?

Thanks. The amp is actually a DSL20HR and MX212 cab. I swapped out the stock speakers for a Creamback in the top position and a Greenback in the bottom.
