are the current non varitone 345s "better" than a 335 generally?
ie
lighter and better wood, better attention to detail,
or is it just the cosmetic differences ?
are they generally lighter as well?
I have the freak, an 8# 2 oz. '03, R9 that sounds better than any guitar in the entire known world,
(well, at least in my world. -> SD Antiquities and RS pots 'n caps)
My R9 through my Allen Old Flame is what I use to judge everything else.

Try this with a '65 DRRI to get reverb and vibrato on both channels.
Jumper your '65 DRRI with Bass on 10 on Normal Channel .and the Treble at 1,
And, Bass on 1 and treble on 10 on the Vibrato channel. Volumes at 6 and 5.
It doesn't matter if it's out of phase with these changes in tone...
