Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
If you want to take a break from politics around here, I'll give it a go:
All you Ohio State Buckeye fans, it's just better if you never turn on your TV for tomorrow's game at USC. You know how it's going to end, and badly.
Tennessee Volunteer fans, since Florida won't be visiting for...
FYI, here's a link to the paper which concludes that the difference in wood density between Classical Cremonese and Modern Violins is one of the tone secrets of the revered Classical Cremonese violins.
"These differences in density differentials may reflect similar changes in stiffness...
Anyone have a Xmas/Holiday CD recommendation to pass along? The kind of sounds you'd just want to put on at home or in the car, and get on with what you are doing?
IMO, Holiday Harmony by America and Christmas Interpretations by Boyz II Men both set great moods - they aren't mainstream, but...
EE's Inspired by SG gets a very, very nice review in the Field Test section of the December 2007 edition of Guitar Player. Three nice pics, too. Congrats, EE.
Collectors can spend some money, which seems to make vintage look like a bargain. And you can't even play a coin.

A question for Darkback owners: can you see grain beneath your Darkback finish? If so, how "easy" or "hard" is it to see? Are you able to photograph it (and post the pic)?
Reading the thread in this section about the poor drummer friend of jboris and his horrible woman situation made me think of a really good evil woman name memorialized in a song (in this case, one by Blood, Sweat & Tears): Lucretia McEvil.
Kind of says it all, no? Any other good ones?
I'm the happy owner of a new 06 SG VOS from Saul at Centre City Music (he is simply a great guy - honest, ethical and a pleasure to deal with) - I know the SGs all look about the same, but check out that pickup coloration - can't say I've seen that before.
The Burstbucker 2 and 3 sound great...
LPFers - the search function is down, otherwise I'm sure I would have found some threads on the stock Gibson 490R and 498T pickups (standard on an SG) - so if you have a second, please jot down your two cents on these pickups - anything you do or don't like about them - thanks.
