• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Jason Barwick shines with The Brew

Saw The Brew with Jason Barwick on guitar two times during the last week on the final gigs of their recent "Control"-tour. Breathtaking perfomance with outstanding classic tone, featuring Historic & Custom LPs plus a Strat through a Plexi Marshall. Sound and playing lifting Jason right up into...

    Bonamassa @ "Goldie" 9 0629?

It has been reported in the latest issue of "Gitarre & Bass" that JB is the new owner of "Goldie" 9 0629. The author stated that he got his news from a former owner of Goldie. How reliable is this statement? Even if it doesn't make a difference practically, I don't intend to fuel rumors or...

SG 1965: back to original glory

Got this '65 SG earlier this year from the UK, pretty reasonable priced but definitely messed up with big time. Exactly what I wanted, getting it fixed is half of the fun! Some impressions regarding the metamorphosis:

    PAF wire clor..is this legit?

PAF wire color..is this legit? As far as I know PAFs are all purple bobbin wire, this one is labeled as an original PAF but the wire looks suspicious to me...reddish/orange would indicate early PAT number PUs. Anybody has an idea?

    PUs in CC#2 Goldie

Burstbuckers? Maybe. Labels? Nope. Different, BB1 & BB3? Never, both reading 7,78 / 7,80 kOhms! Potted? You bet, they are oozing wax when unsoldering those hideous covers (already gone). Other details: large heel, small frets, dark reddish fretbord screws aged besides for jack plate :wah...

    Jäger strikes again!

Evening, since Florian is already working (sorry Jean Christophe for standing in line in font of you) on our recent project I'd thought someone might appreciate sharing some impressions of "work in progress": The basis is a 2010 R0 VOS, great guitar but I didn't like the sticky finish plus the...
