Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
I have heard Bonamassa has the previous neck. Not sure if the neck Joe has is the original 1960 neck that came with the guitar back in 1960 or if he has a replacement neck that was once on the guitar.
It would seem curious if ATC re-necked it just because he wanted a fuller 59' neck or even if the original neck had a break yet was still attached to the body, I don't think ATC would have had the custom neck put on and the original removed.
1960 Les Paul Standard - Player Grade Burst for Sale.
Not sure if this guitar has been mentioned yet in a thread.
Perhaps this is considered a somewhat "uncirculated Burst" out of Canada.
It's been re-necked and is "reasonably priced" if authentic.
Current owner was told that neck was...
I think it was originally believed to be a 60s re-neck. Perhaps done at the Gibson factory at the time. Thus they would have been putting the serial on the re-neck. But that's not so.
It's a definite re-neck. The new neck was put on in 2014. Serial Number was added at some point to the re-neck. Possibly before JD had it but maybe not.
The guitar currently has serial 0 7595 on the re-neck.
With it being re-necked, I don't think the tuners are correct (should be double...
Yes, it did go through Eliot Michael's store at Rumble Seat about 5 years ago. Not sure how they confirmed it to be a 1960 Les Paul Standard if it has a duplicate serial number.
Yes I have heard of that. That's what concerns me. However, the guitar is listed /photographed in Burst Believers volumes 3,4 & 5 which I understand is not to be considered validation from what I understand.
