Can anyone give a reasonable explanation...

why Les Pauls are so easy to setup for great action, and Stratocasters are the king of fret buzz (5th/6th), no matter the fret leveling or setup? There has to be a reason, which I believe is down to bridge geometry or string length. Comments?

    Mixing 8 Ohm and 16 Ohm in 2 x 10 cabinet

Would the SPL of the 8 Ohm speaker be that noticable over the 16, if wired in series?

    Blackheart 5W head

Got my Blackheart 5W head yesterday. This is a smash hit of an amp. I have 2 modified, re-tubed Valve Jrs, and this amp blows them away- even with stock Chinese tubes. True Marshall bell with excellent tone control (comparing with my 1987). 3W setting pulls some teeth, but is great for...

    Powering down Tube-type marshalls

Any of you techies have any opinions about turning off the amps? Is it better to turn off the mains with the amp OFF standby, or to go to standby, then off. I would think that turning directly off would discharge the filter caps faster, but don't know if this is good for a long life, or letting...
