• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Well took the leap today... had an Ibanez SB1200 double neck that was stolen by a repair shop whose owner had a drug problem back around 1999-2000. Missed that guitar, so I finally coughed up the bucks and ordered a EDS 1275 from the custom shop. I think that will make up for the 21 year absence...

I Named My Les Pauls Today

Yeah, my 2007 '57 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty is the Shady Lady in memory of my ex-wife's felony conviction for embezzlement, and the 1973 Black Beauty I sold to marry that... person.

    Buck Owens Harmony Acoustic?

Special? Not really. When Harmony produced them in the sixties the best thing about them were they were one of the only models in the catalog still made in the USA. Most of their instrument lines had been moved to Japan including their mandolins and banjos. If you go to the stewmac page on...

Just How Hard Is It To Write an "Original" Song?

Writing the song isn't the problem. Collecting the residuals is the problem. The Copyright office never sent a check to anybody. If you can write it, and you can't flip it on Billboard, sell it as a jingle or incidental music.

    2020 Gibson USA ES-335 figured

Your instrument in spite of the flaws is beautiful. If you are seriously considering returning the instrument to the factory, it would be worth your while to talk to someone at Gibson. I've had to return two instruments to the factory since 2017, and the experience was not what I expected. The...
