• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

JJ el-844 in my Frenzel sweet 15

I've had this amp for a few years now and like it for the 84's but a friend of mine Dave B. sent me some el-844's to try. I wasn't looking for anything different or expecting much from these but I was pleasantly surprised. Took out the EH russian tubes that Jim recommends and without changing...

    Rolph's/Blackstone/R57/BFDR

Here's a soundfile of Gary Moore/Peter Green "If You Be My Baby" Intro. Got my Rolphs in and my BFDR up and running along with Jon Blackstone's Mosfet OD. Lost the first run to a power outage and did this short version after a beer. Blackstone is on the Brown channel, amp on 3.

    Any GT-STP G w/top boost owners?

Just got this amp used, its 25 watts with 6V6's or around 30 with EL34's. It's one of GT's first amps for the studio with their speaker emulator or line out option. Not a bad sound from this amp for clean sounds (classic Fender), the gain circuit is switchable on the front panel and will give...

    Crispy Cream anyone?

Picked one up this week and its addictive. With some major tweaking to the amps settings it made sense to alot of sounds. Fairly quiet for a T-booster and touch sensitive. Still using my 59's but will take them out after I try a few more things. Wish it was encased in metal but I can transfer...

    Jim Rolph 57 pup's

Just got my 57 pup's from Jim, now thats customer service! I'm glad there are still people like him in business. The pup's are heavy and ooze quality, kinda like looking at a nice old Corvette. Gonna install them per his advice. Thanks to all who have posted on the sound/quality of his pup's.

    Blackrose Custom and CTS pots

Was looking for CTS pots and tried several places but either the online ordering wasn't working or the shipping via UPS was twice the amount of my order! Went to BC and they use USPS which is my preferred method of shipping small stuff. Easy site to go thru, competitive prices.

The Historic LP Construction Video, is there one?

Is there such a video? A follow up to BOB, or a documentary with clips of the greats with Dan doing the construction part and Gary Moore doing the interviews.
