Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
This '55 LP junior is for sale locally.
Price is not a bargain, so I'll have time to think about it
It is said to be all original. Do any of you find something fishy?
thx
Hi,
I'm looking for opinions on this Special.
I found:
- switch ring is '58
- switch is original
- wear is honest, color seems OK
- braided wire on the pickup is 2 strand weave. The other wires are strange with a red and blue core. Strange anyone would use other wire.
- volume pot of the bridge...
Hey,
Someone offered a nice '58 Special. Price is reasonable (at least for this side of the world). He's 1st owner and the LP is said to be all original.
I asked better pictures and I'll update as soon as I get them.
Any thoughts on these crappy pics?
What's the opinion on a proto #1 CC? There is 1 for sale and I wonder if those are thebest the could make, sort of standard to compare the series to.
Otherwise they could be just a tryout to see how a colour works out, so very different to the rest of the series.
Are those the ones that the...
Hi,
I got a 2016 LPR 8, which has a neck pickup ring that's not tapered.
I'll explain. Since LP tops aren't flat, all pickup rings are thicker at the side of the bridge. This one is the same hight all around.
When I bought it, I thought it was part of the special edition (LPR 8 'S' on the...
Hi,
could this be a '61 custom? Overall the basics dont't look off, the neck joint could be correct.
Obviously:
- refinish
- new tuners
- non fitting pickguard (to cover a middle pickup?) I asked a picture to check out a possible explanation.
- new TRCand screw seems off center of the diamond...
Hi,
I posted the guitar in the 61-69 forum, but the seller claims the pickups are real PAF's.
I guess the experts on these read more in this sub-forum, so here we go: are these real?
Thanks
I've posted a thread about a '68 standard, but I also found this nice '68 Custom.
It should be all original, except the '73 humbuckers. The originals should be available, but I have no picture yet.
Hi,
I'm looking at a '68 Les Paul standard.
The pickups were changed to real PAF's. Can anyone confim this?
The back was sprayed with lacquer to cover the bucklerash. I'm not sure if the original finish is still applied.
It has a '59 neck profile.
Someone pointed out the finish might be...
Hi,
what do you think of this Heritage? Bridge pickup is not original and it has playwear. Any other remarks? It is said to be the LP used by Whitesnake, but it's the guitar that counts.
The prices on these oldies vary alot, so any input would be nice.
Hi, I'm wondering if the early CC's are still as relevant as they were.
Back in the time Sandy was sold out in no time. The early ones gained value and are very popular.
Nowadays there are (too?) many CC's, so there is much more to choose from.
On paper Sandy might have a laminated fretboard...
