Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
I have an '87 335 with no pickguard and no sticker on the inside but the serial number checks out. Any ideas? I thought all 335's had a pickguard and sticker inside the F hole.
I have an older, non Gibson guitar that has a dime sized gouge in the finish and would like to find out how to fill it in. It's black and is probably a thick urethane finish. Do they make a black epoxy filler or other material to fill it in. Not looking to do any fancy finish work here, just...
the lower strap button has loosened over time and now appears to be stripped. I was thinking I could cut a small piece of wood to take up the slack in order for the threads to catch on something and ultimately remain tightened. Just wanted to double check if that seems like a reasonable...
Just picked up an Atomic 16 and have a question about the speaker input jacks. Can I run the on board speaker and a cabinet at the same time? I'm guessing I can, but need to know what ohm rating the extension cabinet needs to be? All I have are 8ohm cabs at the moment. thanks!
got an '82 jcm800 4104 which runs 6550's and a pair of G12-65s.... it's my first experience with 6550's and they seem to sound ok, but I don't have a good reference point to compare them with an EL34 Marshall. Was wondering what the sonic differences are, if any.
Also wouldnt mind hearing...
the speaker ohm rating on an amp I just picked up isn't labeled and I wanted to make sure it's either 4, 8 or 16 ohms. can I just plug in a speaker cable, turn the amp on and measure with a multimeter? similar to how I measure pickups on a guitar?
thanks in advance!
sold all my amps and kept one, a '66 BFSR. Interested in finding something with different tonality, so that I'd have just two amps, each being unique. Don't have a huge budget. Wanted to get something in the british, Marshall flavor. Should stand up to the rigors of gigging too...
Lookin to pick up an affordable gigging amp with plenty of power for a variety of venues, not too big though, and the occasional small outdoor fest. Had my eye on a DSL401 and wanted to know if any have experience with this amp good or bad. Also have my eye on a Mesa F-50 which should also...
just put out the extra cash for Analogman's version.... the Clone Chorus.
The Small Clone seem to be pretty inexpensive. Just wondering how the quality and sound is. Don't really expect to use much chorus, but wanted to add one to the rig for a few songs here and there during a gig. What...
Just lookin for some user feedback on how the combination between Timbuckers and the RS wiring kit work with each other. Just got the call that I'm the next in line for some Tims and wondered if I should match them up with the RS kit. Any and all feedback is welcome.
Thanks!
just lookin to see what various types of speakers folks have been sucessful with running in their BFDR's. Basically looking for an efficient speaker that will fit in the cab with hopes of using the amp in small venues covering your basic classic rock and blues. For bigger gigs, I can always...
