Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
The guitar player for Duff McKagan's Loaded, Mike Squires, brought his guitar over today with my Marshallheads in it.
The Marshallheads were a little squirrelly for him under high gain. He's doing a show here in Seattle next weekend, and wanted to make sure it was good to go.
Before potting, I...
Been a while. I figure someone here knows how to get ahold of Tim. I no longer have his contact info.
Phone number would be best.
I need to alert Tim of something pretty serious going down the pipeline in pickupland....
I just heard from my magnet supplier, Allstar, after showing his a gauss comparison of old magnets and new magnets. He asked what forums I'm on these days, so I mentioned this place of course.
He may be dropping by to ask about vintage magnets and how you people feel they affect tone. Perhaps...

Vintage pickguards?
I remember seeing something awhile back, here I think, about vintage LP pickguards having some sort of roller mark on the backside or something.
I can't find this information any more though.
Anyone got pics and details of this roller mark, and information about what...
Aside from that they're out of business and the owner is in jail for fraud, who knows about Blues Pearl? What sort of value are they holding?
I've got the opportunity to pick one up under $400...I forget the model, but I'm pretty sure it was a Fender clone. It's been several years since I...
Anybody know the skinny on these caps?
I know they were military spec, not used in consumer grade electronics, an insanely priced when new.
I'm told they were the ultimate in paper-oil capacitors. Hermetically sealed, and last forever under heavy stress.
Anybody use them?

Thanks guys...now you've gone and done it.
I put one of the Spragues I picked yesterday in my LP last night. I notice the tone sweep is not quite as wide as it was before, but I also notice the tone is mucho smoother.
Now I've got Sprague Plague, and I'm on the hunt.
This poses a...
How desirable are these caps? I've found a source for them at $2 each...several different ratings....which are the most common ratings used aside from .022?
Also, anyone heard of an AeroVox capacitor? Got one here...black...silver ring, made in New Bedford, Mass.
I'll be headed out for the...
We're sourcing for a new supplier of P-90 mounting/height adjustment screws, and I'm just wondering if anyone happens to know the proper Gibson lenghts for the neck and bridge pickup screws. I believe Gibson uses two different lenghts, but I'm not sure.
Thanks,
Wolfe

Closed Ebay auction for claimed "Double White" circa 1959 PAF.
Check the pictures closely, and tell me the giveaway.
(No, it's not the phillips screws)
I'm glad nobody won this.

Hello. First day on this forum, nice to meet everybody.
I'm looking for verifiable pictures of Gibson guitars using double creme humbuckers before 1974. PAF's with the covers removed, T-Tops, whatever. As long as they're Gibson pickups and before 1974, it's fine.
If anyone can help, I...
