• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

    '58 Burst in South Africa

Not sure who else follows TrueVintageGuitar on Instagram but he managed to find a '58 burst in Cape Town, South Africa and flew over to pick it up. He says it's uncirculated? Not often one pops up in your home town

1983 Gibson Les Paul Custom questions

I recently picked up an '83 Custom :yah Not a lot of info on them online, this one has been fiddled with slightly so I have a few questions if anyone is able to answer. 1.) Original switch tip colour? Mine has a brass one on which is obviously not standard. Did it come with a black or white...

    NAD: '65 DRRI + Query

This big box arrived for me today  So far happy, till I decided to check on the tubes. It shipped with the tubes in place and the 6V6's had dropped out of their sockets slightly. Then I saw this.. Tranny is bent or moved to a 45 degree angle, is that normal?

    Possible '58?

This popped up on a local forum, owner claims he has had it since the 70s, serial number is missing but apparently by the pot codes he thinks its a '58. Been refin'd, said it was black too at one stage. Now just clear nitro. Some pics: Can be found here. Opinions?

    Marshall JMP50

Going to look at one of these tomorrow, anything I should look out for? good things? bad things? I have a '69 JMP100 but its physically too big to cart around to practice and gigs and hoping this will do. Some pics: Means its a '73? Just buying the head, will be using my 2x12...

    New Old Amp Day (Marshall)

Picked this up recently :2cool 1969 Marshall Super PA 100w , currently running with two of its tubes pulled to bring it down to 50w as thats what my cab is rated at. It uses 6L6 tubes, a friend has one and his uses EL34s.. can I just switch to EL34s (and rebias obviously) ? Things that need...

'69 Fender Bassman kep nuts size?

I have a '69 Silverface Fender Bassman with the AB165 circuit (not that it matters) and one of the nuts that hold the tray in is missing. Anyone have any idea what size it is supposed to be? I ordered a 6/32 and 8/32 keps nut from TubeDepot but neither are correct.

    Bridge/String height

I have a Les Paul Studio in faded cherry with a Gotoh lightweight tail piece, rest is pretty stock bar for nickel hardware instead of the usual chrome. My question is how do people get their tailpiece almost level with the body, to get a usable string height if I drop my tail piece down, the...
