Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Ive looked at the schematic for the PA 135 and it shows a 4 ohm mim on the speaker load, but the actual PA says it needs to see an 8 ohm load.
I'm hoping it will take a 4 ohm speaker load...
Anyone been there done that?
I've got a 68 Pro reverb, a 63 bandmaster, and one of those ultralinear late 70's twins, and I would like to handle all the repairs and biasing myself.
Is there a book or books that target Fender amps?
Hey,
My master volume twin reverb started to squeal with a high pitched feedback and the four power tubes started glowing blue at the bottom of the tubes.
I pulled the two outside tubes and they glowed blue with the same noise, and then I shut the thing off.
Nothing is smoking...yet. Can...
I kinda goofed the other day..i bid $400.00 and won on ebay, what i thought was a vintage Ampeg RR but it really was one of those re-issues.
I went ahead and paid for the amp to make the deal right.
Anyone have any good/ bad experience with this amp? Tone? What do you think?
I hope that the...
Ive got a PR that is like a little Marshall, it really roars when you push it without much headroom.
Now that I have a Marshall I would like to make the PR into a clean (but not sterile) rockabilly/ country amp.
So, what I'm looking for are some suggestion on -
More clean head room/ less...
A shorted 6l6 output tube smoked the 470ohm screen resistor in my 1968 PR the other day.
I shut the amp off..I doubt anything else was damaged but mabye someone here knows more about that.
I looked over the cap's on the board and under the dog house and they look o.k- no leaking or white...
is totally depleted. No more...not even a lousy re-cone to be found.
What would be your second choice?
Sure, it wouldnt be the same quality but what would you go for?
I've got a 74 Gibson SG that has a great looking but somewhat dull waxy looking finish.
I was cleaning some tape heads and a drop of the head cleaner hit the guitar at the toggle switch.
No big deal, but that little area that got head cleaner on it looks really good..better than the dull...
I saw an old 1993 video of Les, and he was getting a woody, almost acoustic sound from his LP (a standard flame top).
B.B King has approached this sound..but, never sounded as jazzy clean and cool.
Loud, too.
I could hear some slap back echo and a touch of reverb and what almost sounds like a...
I'm thinking about what Jeff Beck, Ry Cooder and Neil Young have done with small tube amps.
What would I have to do if I wanted to use my Gibson GA-20 as a master and have a padded line out to a bigger slave amp?
So, I can get the small amps tone with more volume.
Is there a box out there...
