Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
I thought my '54/55 to '58 Darkback Goldtop conversion might be interesting for the Historic District as well.
There were no original parts left, so I decided to go for decent repro parts, and a pair of original unopened PAF's.

While I was checking details for my GT conversion project, one of those VAH questions caught my attention.
What is the exact position of the 'Les Paul' silkscreen logo on the headstock?
After digging through my Les Paul folders I came up with a preliminary hypothesis that I would be happy to...
I'm looking for detailed pictures of an original goldtop in excellent condition with just some minor forearm wear and a few dings here and there.
I just couldn't find any high resulution pics of what I'm looking for. There is either too much wear or the pics are too small to make out enough...

Congrats Brian! :dude:
In early '03 I bought this boogered '54/'55.
There are no original parts left, but it has a nice early PAT No. bridge PUP and a narrow spaced PAF with added coil tap in the neck position.

I still have the '71 catalog and price list that I collected in my early days. Btw. it was listed at DM 12,600 (some $7,800 ). So it was just a dream to see how it...
For those who aren´t on the PP:
It´s a very early JTM-100 Super PA w/ white back panel, probably late ´65, w/ the voltage selector on the 3" PT. The cab has a pair of small Vox vents. The chassis appears to be almost 100% original, except for a couple of replaced components.
It came with a set...
