Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
I agree sweiger... maybe we should notify the Reverb gestapo...? He's clearly trying to sell it on the (extremely remote..) possibility that it MIGHT be a real one... Hmmmm...
By the way, in case anyone is interested, I've just relisted Yuuki's beautiful '53/59 conversion on Reverb as I still can't get along with the chunky '50s neck. It's a stunning guitar though and would be perfect if you've got long fingers..! Open to sensible offers from forum members of course...
Hi Guys! Hope you're all well. Would you Adam & Eve it?! Look what's just turned up on Reverb... Although the seller is based in Eastbourne, which is where the infamous Gareth lives, I don't think it's him. In fact I was contacted a couple of months after returning it by someone who had just...
No... was thinking about it but couldn't bring myself to let it go... Have now though actually listed it on Reverb (as Strativarius Guitars, my business name) as I'm buying a new flat... :)

Still think my 53/59 conversion that Mr Shadows gave birth to a couple of years ago looks the best...! Although a 3 piece top, one of the joins is pretty much central.. And the aging is just gorgeous..! :-)
I'm afraid you'll be lucky to find a REAL lower end Burst these days.... of the 1700 made between 1958 and 1960, only about 2000 survive... ;) Your best bet is to find a really nice '53/59 conversion (and some of them really ARE nice..!) and fantasise it's worth $300k...! That's what i did...
Doc, I don't think you need to worry about the REAL experts on the forum giving advice... Having spoken privately to a couple of them since, they absolutely loved participating in the thread..! After years of offering fairly mundane advice in fairly mundane threads, it was apparently a breath of...
That's kind Josh.... many thanks! Yes the thread DID get a bit fruity and compelling at times LOL...! As you would have seen, the two amigos in question, Tom W and Terry M, were fooled by the guitar just as i was. It IS a VERY convincing copy...! In fairness, both of them had doubts, but both...
Wow, what a lovely tone there Mr Shadows..! Must be something about that combination - my 53/59 sounds awesome through my '64 Selmer Zodiac Twin 30...!
Did you decide to take the Bigsby off? If so, a very wise move....! I've still never come across one that stays in tune...
Hope you're well...
Wow that's cool..! And don't worry, not many people can sound like Gary Moore...! A pretty cool thing happened to a mate of mine in Southend (UK, hello Steve!), who is a big PG & early F Mac fan, too 3 or 4 years ago. I taught him to play guitar many years ago, including a number of F Mac tunes...
