• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hello everybody! My local guitar store has couple Gibson's and I'd like to hear your opinions on them. I am gonna list the guitars and tell the pros and cons of each(In my opinion).
From least to most expensive:

2019 DC junior tribute.

The Pros:
-Price
-Nice satin finish
The Cons:
-can't think of any.
The Not Pros Neither Cons:
-Only bridge pickup
-Satin finish(wears quickly)
-The bridge

All in all not really interest in this on, just not really my thing.

2012 or 13 SG Special tribute 70s

The Pros
-2 pickups
-Nice inlays
The Not Pros Neither Cons:
-Satin finish

2019 Les Paul Studio Tribute(The more controversial one)

The Pros:
-Still less than 1k
-2 pickups
-"Proper" Les Paul specs(Maple top, mahogany body, maple neck and rosewood board.)
-Actual Gibson pickups
The Cons:
-Again can't think any big ones
The Not Pros Neither Cons:
-Satin finish
-No pickup covers
-Dot inlays
-No binding

And lastly

2019 or 20 SG Standard

The Pros:
-It's a standard
-2 pickups
-Nice looks
-Gloss finish
The Cons:
-The price, sadly it's quite expensive even when it's on sale at 1300 but I might be able to haggle them down a little bit.
The Not Pros Neither Cons:
-No hard case
-Gloss finish, sticky

All in all I think either the LP or SG Special would be the choice but I want hear experiences from other people.

The only help I can offer, buy the one you like the most.

It's the only choice that matters.

Good luck.

A lot depends on your playing style and the kind of music you want to play. It's a very personal thing so hard to give opnions on the descriptions. I'd play them all and see which one resonates with you. Good luck with the search.
