• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

A friend of mine was recently offered a '58 and a '59.
The '57 Gold Top in the pics belongs to him.
He said that there was not a big enough difference between the Bursts and his Gold Top,
so he passed on them. Must be nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All three look Gorgeous.
Enjoy!

Blister on a burst is very unusual- I dig it. I have only seen two other ones with more than one or two "pops" like that.

Fascinating. He must have truly approached this with a player's point of view.
I can see that the Gold Top has been refretted. If the new frets are similar to those of a '59, then I can imagine that the difference among the three really could be extremely subtle.
I'd really like to know the details your friend's approach and assessment.
Very cool.

I notice the burst pictured lying with the goldtop has the “eye” woodgrain around the controls that is apparent in closeup photos of the beano guitar... interesting
