• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

What is your favorite album of all time?

The Allman Brothers Band - At Fillmore East

I even have a pink label, first pressing vinyl album that my Dad bought in '71, the day it was released. Yep. You could call that my holy grail album.

Lots of great albums. I originally said Frampton Comes Alive, which I stand by but...for sentimental reasons as well, (not that I don’t still love it) Jimi Hendrix’s Rainbow Bridge is right there too.
Yeah, I know it’s a label compilation, but still a fave.

It would be a fight to the death between At Fillmore East and Truth by the Jeff Beck Group.

Pound for pound, I’d be hard pressed to tell which album is more consistently stimulating, innovative and endless compelling.

SOOOO many in so many styles...I have a Desert Island band list where I would take the catalogue of 10-12 different bands. But...let's give it a shot, and I'll pick one. This is probably based on the albums I always listen to every year multiple times.

In no particular order:

Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
T'Pau - T'Pau
REO Speedwagon - High Infidelity
Billy Squire - Don't Say No
KISS - Alive II
ABBA - Greatest Hits Vol II
Dirty Looks - Five Easy Pieces
Blondie - Eat To The Beat
Cheap Trick - Dream Police
Def Leppard - Hysteria
Journey - Escape
Roger Waters - Radio Kaos
Jamie O'Neal - Shiver

Man - I can't pick one of those! very one of those is nothing but start to finish awesome for me.

OK - KISS ALIVE II!!!
Blonde Eat to the beat is amazing. Cleme Burk is so underrated!!

I had to think about this for a bit. And then, wammo, it hit me.

Pat Metheny Group ~ " We Live Here "

That would be my favorite but anything by them. Nothing like their live performances though.

As you can tell by my avatar, My favorite album of all time is Little Queen by Heart. It was colorless. It was timeless. It didn't have a genre. The whole neighborhood could listen to it. My favorite tracks on that album...well, that's a trick question! All of the songs on there are great, especially Love Alive, Barracuda and Little Queen. I also have the California Jam 2 album that Heart performed at.

You gotta listen to it! It's even better than Dreamboat Annie!

I am with you guys on most of the albums mentioned. One that made me want to play a Les Paul was David Bowie-Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. The tone and the musicality of Mick Ronson on Moonage Daydream still haunts me.

What a tough question. To listen to, end to end, there are many. The Cars Candy-O might be my favorite but I have other individual songs I think are more "favorites".

I love a lot of the albums you all have mentioned, and Black Crowes SHMC is a close second, but if I have to pick one it's The Joshua Tree for me. I am solidly a child of those '80s, and everything hovering around this album (plus the production hand of Daniel Lanois, who was coming off of the Robbie Robertson album and Peter Gabriel's So album) just works for me.

Candy O was my dads favorite Cars album. I preferred Heartbeat City however.
