I prefer the CustomBuckers but I do like the BurstBuckers. They are very similar, with the magnet type being the biggest difference (ll vs lll). Both are un-potted. The CustomBuckers have a bit more clarity? Just for curiosity I measured the resistance of both. Classic-BB1 (neck) 7.62, BB2 (bridge) 8.11, R9-CB neck 7.84 and bridge 7.80. Obviously the BB bridge in the Classic is a bit more aggressive. I play the R9 more now because it's about a pound lighter but I do enjoy playing the Classic.That's another nice guitar!
