• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Goldtops, well, just because...

Wow! Maybe a sweetspot. Biggest neck too!
Yes it definitely could be a sweet spot. I've owned 4 original 54/55 goldtop's, the lightest of which was bang on 8 lbs and it was very 'honky' and thin sounding. The heaviest was a 55 that weighed 9.5 lbs and although it sounded great (big sounding guitar), it didn't have the resonance or the feel of my new R4. So although the orginals are obviously desirable guitars, in reality I'm enjoying my new Reissue more so than any of them, it plays like butter, it's easy on the shoulder, and it sounds sensational... what more could I ask for?

Hopefully I did not ask this before but what do you think of that guitar stand? I ordered a half dozen for my studio several months ago (this summer) and just have not received them do supply issues or something. Nonetheless, I’ve been asking when I see one what the person thinks. So far comments have been good!
