• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

But guys excuse me...but how can this a be a 1957 custom?
Nylon saddles
later 60s control hats
Doubt those are PAF covers. Round edges.
Phillips screws for pup height instead of slot srews.
Wired sixties bridge
White pup surroundings
tuners wrong
No space between neck pup surrounding and neck binding, space between surroundings rather tight for a 3 pup Custom.
And bridge is rather close to the bridge pup surrounding.

Looks like a P90 conversion.

Love to see any cavity shoots and serial number. Any photos with KR?
Please correct me, if I am wrong!

The ABR-1 bridge issue is what screams out to me that there is malfeasance !

Most of the parts are not correct for a '60 Les Paul Custom but they can have been changed. The all mahogany body, last 3 inlays and headstock shape are correct. Too bad also the video doesn't show the inside of the pots compartment and this clown is incapable of understanding, let alone explain, the wiring.

to me.....this is a story..on top of a story...on top of a story!!!!! i'd like to see an inked on serial number...a shot of the control cavity..with 1950s pot code...and if it was a 50s mickey baker it would have had p90s....this is a 1990s les paul....beat up ...not an original. also...of course keith had a 3 pickup custom,,,in the stones gear book and met museum show that had psychedelic...painting on it....but show me a picture of him with a mickey baker!!!!! also gram parsons died in 1973.....making the story even more far-fetched....my only hope is that someone will pay 200k for this..because i need a good laugh!!!!!:giggle:

Wellstrung Guitars have/recently had a 1957 x3 PAF Mickey Baker Custom. They're not all P90 guitars.

As for this guitar and that story, who knows. But it could be a real Micky Baker Custom, just with all the parts changed.

@El Gringo You do see the back of the headstock in the video and there isn't a volute (no serial number either though). Also the Gibson logo is correct for the 1950s, as are the fretboard inlays. You can't authenticate a guitar just by what parts it does or does not have. For what it's worth the pickguard looks right.

The husk looks like a 1950's Mickey Baker, but it doesn't appear that any hardware is original. The cream rings are imports with wider mounting hole positions, the pickguard in not a wide bevel 1950s guard, the TRC is not 1950's, the list goes on, but the husk looks real to me. Control and pickup cavity shots would solve the question.
