• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Let's say..... there was this guitar player.....

I'm in your shoes. I'm 43 and have been playing for the past 30 years or so (damn!). Never took a lesson and was actually quite proud of where I was at, just learning by myself and my good ear (I took saxophone lessons from age 7 to 15). I'm in the guitar business, and with all this COVID...

NGD in a few days: '92 EDS-1275 - NEED NEW CASE!

Probably been replaced by the previous owner. I like ABRs better anyway, so that’s cool for me. Original bridges should be Nashville.

NGD in a few days: '92 EDS-1275 - NEED NEW CASE!

I used the standard D’addario 12 strings. I believe there’s only one gauge available. this one: https://www.daddario.com/products/guitar/electric-guitar/xl-nickel/exl150-nickel-wound-12-string-regular-light-10-46/ The 6 strings side has 11-49s bending is just fine on the Es, Bs and Gs, but...

    storm in a teacup ?

I'm just as happy with a nicely finished (shiny) guitar, as well as with a nicely relic'ed one, and relic'ed / weathered guitars and patinas is something our workshop is kind of reputed for ; but THIS is just a f*cked up attempt at a paint job! Whether someone likes it or not, whatever floats...

99 Gibson Les Paul Standard (Parts Question)

Oh yeah, those parts are nickel. PU covers, bridge, Stopbar and maybe the grovers, are chrome. Absolutely no clue what that little metal thing is…

99 Gibson Les Paul Standard (Parts Question)

Looks like chrome to me (blueish hue), and not that tarnished at all. Plus I can't remember seeing a Nashville bridge in nickel. Always chrome or gold. Doesn't mean they're not around... That metal part could very well be some solder that didn't "stick" to a pot and was left there...
