Difficult to tell without opening the guitar. '87 is well into the guitar trader (and others) re-issue era so it might be either late shaw design or early re-issue PAFs, they're listed as '59 re-issue pickups... In the '91 catalogue the Lucille has the pickups listed as 1R-4 and 1L-6.
Damn, that's not a nice story... Melting finish or hanger rash happens when the top coat reacts with some type of rubber, no easy fix unfortunately.

I'm pretty sure an '07 R8 plaintop was going for €2995,- in Europe. But why do you need to know? The market is not the same as it was in '07. You wouldn't base the resale price of a real '59 on the price paid in '59 would you?
I just can't stop playing it. What a great guitar, Gibson has really upped their game, this thing has tone in spades. The neck is just right, not to big not to small.
