• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Les Paul Classic Push Pull pots explanation?

Does anyone have a link that explains exactly what each push/pull pot does? Or anyone have a simple explaination? All the coil tapping and phase switching. What should be the audible result?

What is your favorite album of all time?

What a tough question. To listen to, end to end, there are many. The Cars Candy-O might be my favorite but I have other individual songs I think are more "favorites".

No serial number on headstock 1970's SG Custom

I sold a LP many many years ago. Long story short, it was nearly new and hardly played. The buyer was a musical instrument shop, and the man who inspected it questioned if the headstock had ever been repaired (broken). He said when that happens, sometimes the overspray washes out any...

    Albums

I like PF's Dark Side of the Moon, to listen to front to back. I have thousands of vinyl records (LPs, EPs, 45s, 78s) I accumulated. Working as a DJ for over a decade. whatever I bought, I got reimbursed for and could keep, so I took full advantage of that. I also shopped a few large...

It Might Get Loud (Page, Edge, White)

It wasn't my intent to bash Jack. Its just not my style, and having worked as a DJ for over 10 years in an alternative or underground night club, I listen/like to a lot of non-mainstream music. The DVD I have contains a lot of deleted scenes. Many of those are on the YouTube somewhere now...

Let's say..... there was this guitar player.....

One suggestion, explore a genre or style you haven't tried. Classical or jazz maybe. I never think it's too late to learn something new.

It Might Get Loud (Page, Edge, White)

Out of boredom, I ordered the documentary "It Might Get Loud" over Amazon. I didn't even know this had been done and found it accidentally. It goes into a historical look at Jimmy Page, The Edge, and Jack White. First, I could care less about Jack White. If you don't know what he did...

Inherited a Rolex. Does Anyone Know About Them?

Rolex was "issued" to certain people who were working for a certain 3-letter agency, overseas, in a certain country. It served two purposes. One to tell time. The second, was a method to barter in the event there was an emergency, someone had to be bribed, paid off, or a car (getaway) was...

The Fabled Les Paul/Gibson tuning issues?

I owned one LP Standard for a number of years and never had problems with tuning. With the LP I recently purchased, I haven't had an issue with it either.

Amps you sold but should have kept

I got a good deal on a Pevey Deuce around 1978-79. I sold it a few years later. It was way too much for a practice amp and my parents didnt miss it at all. :)
