• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Just noticed that I joined this Band of Brothers 14 years ago, feels like yesterday, and judging by some of my contributions not far off the truth!!!!

Wot Larks it's been.

How about a roll call from some of the old timers that were here for years before I rolled up? Be good to know everyone's still in the game.

For instance Xpensive wino posted recently, the bugger told me he was dead.....

Coming up on 18 for me.

After being enamored with Les Pauls my entire life, I finally could afford one, a Classic 1960 Goldtop in 2000, after driving up and down the US east coast searching for a good lefty. A 59 Dot ES-335 soon followed.

Took me more years to find a 2003 R0 Brazilian, which led me here in 2005.

And then, my GAS, knowledge, and stable has grown considerably. Howdy all, and thanks!

Yes, yes, the year I was born, 1906, I think.

Was a young teenager when I joined, these days I have gear I could never have dreamed of. Playing out is still great, but practice and gear forums don't get a lot of time anymore. The youthful "spark" is gone :ROFLMAO: . Still like to check this place out almost every day :)

I joined December 3, 2006. That's 16 1/2 years more or less!
That was before the economy bottomed out!
The biggest difference between 2023 and 2006 is not necessarily the price of the vintage gear but the availability of it. As of 2023 the vintage stuff simply does not exist in the shops anymore. It's gone! Only a few select shops have any vintage stuff anymore.
Almost (almost, not quite) everything else is pretty much the same.

For me, the subtleties of my knowledge of all things vintage Gibson has been improved but my appreciation of the same has grown exponentially! I enjoy other members' pictures and write-ups of their new acquisitions, vintage or not!

Thank you Les Paul Forum for many years of good fun!

I joined Mar 16, 2005 some 18 years ago however.......................................I seem to remember that the site crashed and we all had to re-register.

It was a long time ago and happy to be wrong
