Wonderful progression!

I assume original switches intact..?

And with era appropriate Vibrolux pairings: bon appetit, sommelier!

Nice example of burst finish changes. Haven't seen a Lake Placid with a color tint like that before. Time can do weird things. Cameras too.

Very cool! Thanks for posting. How do they sound through that black panel Vibrolux? Any significant differences in tone among them?

They all have their own "thing." As you might expect, the maple neck is a bit snappier than a rosewood board. Hard to explain the nuances in sound.

Nice range of Strats!

Here are the ones I have owned and played, only missing a 1960 that I never took a picture of.

In order 1957, 1958, 1963 and 1964.

Dig the white case and the last two, my "tighty whiteys", both 1964s I believe.

☝️ Stoned Immaculate! You sure found clean machines. If I had to pick, the 58 and 64. But then again I would run past them and fawn over the SG. Yeah, love those cream cases.

That is a couple of really nice Strats. I know when the headstock changed in the 60's, but I was curious when it changed in the 50's. I thought I would save some time by asking in this thread, but I am assuming nobody knew so I went online and figured it out.

Please fill us in, the only info could find is the string tree changed and the headstock thickness is different. As for the big headstock reissues , some say they aren't the same as the originals.

I started to describe the differences, but it is kind of hard to put into words. Just stare at the shapes, sizes and contours all the way around the 55 that mikeslub posted and compare them to the 60 and 65.
