I don’t think it is a reasonable price. That said, I bought an all original GT in 2013 for a lot less happy I got it at the prices they were back then. I should have bought more before they started to rebound

Carter’s seems to be a silly place. Their descriptions are woefully inaccurate and incomplete and their pricing seems to take a cue from reverb.

I wouldn’t buy strings from them.

It’s becoming a silly world! (Although there fewer bonafide pre sticker Goldtops than sunbursts……)

Pretty sure at any price, I'd be staring at it, looking for ways to make it go away. But that's me.
No way to make it go away. Gold is much harder to deal with than burst finishes to repair. Best you could do is try and disguise it as disguise it as another kind of damage. But then you are damaging further the original finish.

I like blemishes, wear, checking and greening on Goldtops…it is what gives them character. Otherwise they all look the same. There are limits of course.

Very nice guitar - I'm sure the new owner is going to be very pleased with this fine example - what ever the sale price - sure would be amazing if one thread of this fashion could yield positive posts in aggregate - you are exposed = Envy when you don't have one & your neighbor dose's !!

It's the rectangular-ness of it that bothers me. Maybe I'd wear it down into something more oblique...like Goldfinger.
