• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I found this old poster that was included in Guitar Player magazine special equipment issue back in October 1982. The poster also says: "Les Paul Sunburst: American guitar's premier vintage solidbody".

It's hard to read the print, but is says the pickup covers were removed to reveal the "highly desirable double cream-coil PAFs. This was the first color poster ever included in Guitar Player magazine. Too bad it doesn't give the serial number. Boy is it clean!

You think you could do a closeup of the text? I'd love to read that.

I have that poster framed in one of my bedrooms...and I still have the issue of GP that it came in. Ever since I saw that photo I've dreamed of having one...now if I could just win the lottery. :)

Beautiful guitar. I remember that issue, don't know where the poster is now. I wonder what the value of it was back in Oct. '82.

I had that poster on my wall for many years, and still have it tucked away somewhere.

Just curious...

Are there any good color photos of what these 'bursts looked like when they were brand new? I'm curious because I know these finishes aged quite a bit over the years and I'm wondering what they looked like when they first left the factory.

There have been a few that have shown up here. Maybe they'll show up again. (hint-hint!) Some look frighteningly close to ...... Historics! :wah NOT a bad thing in my book. :2cool
