285K USD..

Isn't the asking price a bit steep, considering the issues?
Then again, a stinger burst is über rare yes...
Very nice late '60 example btw.

All the issues however concern parts that are not necessarily integral to the „soul“ of the guitar. No major damage repairs. Original pickups. The biggest issue in my opinion is the replaced binding. Non original plastics and nickel hardware are in my opinion minor issues. Nice that is has the original double ring tuners and reflector knobs and original 60‘s sunburst finish.

To each his own.
The issues mentioned in the listing are important in relation to the price -at least to me.
Stinger vs no stinger? Personally, I'm indifferent about it. YMMV etc. :)

I would agree. The pickguard, switch ring and bridge pickup ring are probably the most expensive and difficult to find parts it could need. I think missing those should have an effect on the price.

They're far more difficult to find than a set of PAFs, no-wire ABR-1 or a short-seam stop tail for example. Stinger is cool but I don't think it's worth a significant upcharge.

Exactly.
Well to be fair re. the rings:
It's apparently 'only' the bridge p.u. ring that is (partly) incorrect and restored, according to the seller.
